Membership Meeting, Election and Dues!

good morning

We have our monthly membership meeting this coming Sunday (July 14th) at 10:30 AM. Of course, you can come in at 9:30 AM and enjoy a nice Irish Buffet Breakfast! After the meeting, we will be conducting an election for SOECC Board of Directors, which will conclude at 5PM.  There are four positions on the board. This year we have five candidates. Please only vote for four. If you mark off all five as your choices, your vote will be disqualified. I hope to see some strong participation in the election.

A friendly reminder that annual membership dues are due by July 31st. After that date, there will be a late fee of $25 added. So, "get her done"!

Etiquette Reminders

We so very often ask that members not enter the kitchen when in operation, for any circumstance. Many enter the wrong door
and this can cause the waitstaff to drop a meal or even hurt themselves! Please do not go in the kitchen, be patient and the
waitstaff will get to you as soon as possible. As a reference, you don't enter kitchens in restaurants you frequent, so do
not do it at the club.

Another trend that has only just started is that orders are being written on placemats and handed to the waitstaff.
Again, please wait and be patient for the waitstaff to take your order. Believe it or not, we do tally the slips at the
end of the night to confirm sales and quantity of different meals that are served.

Be well all! Enjoy what has been a great summer so far!

Hello Summer!

Which also means it's family time, so make sure to bring your family to the club and enjoy some great food and music!

In this message I will include June's membership meeting minutes, so please read to the end. Thank you Nancy Apple for providing the minutes for us! I would also like to thank Board of Directors member Tom Hickey for serving the past few years, as he has decided not to run again. All the best Tom!

So, we will have our annual elections on July 14th. As a member, you may vote, but it is in person only. You must come to the club between 11:30AM - 5:00PM to cast your vote. There are five candidates for the board, running for four slots.

Jay Collett

Lisa Williams (incumbent)

Mike Shea (incumbent)

Terry Shea

Ed Tierney (incumbent)

I will be proctoring the voting process.

Did you hear we have an ATM! Can you believe it, we finally did it! Also, at our next membership meeting, we have the pleasure of awarding three scholarships. The well-deserving students are Sarah Clifford who is attending the Mass. College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Miriam Patricia May who is attending the Univ. of Maine and Avery Mohan who is attending Williams College. Great job by Bill Hurley and his team in reviewing the 15 applicants.

Below is a list of what is going on for July. You can always check the website calendar and our Facebook page for the same information.

I hope you all are well and starting to enjoy the warmer weather!  I know I am!  With the exception to the green pollen fog that has covered the Cape!

This coming Sunday we have our monthly membership meeting starting at 10:30AM.  The most significant event taking place during the meeting will be the nominations for our Board of Directors.  There are four board positions.  Voting takes place at the July meeting.  If you have any questions regarding the position and the election process, please visit our website, go to the membership heading on the top right hand of the first page.  A drop down will show you where to review the bylaws. (or click here for the PDF)

I want to thank all of the members who showed up at May's membership meeting.  I do believe that it was one of our best attended.

We expect an installation of our ATM machine within the next week or so!  There will be a $2.50 transaction fee to cover costs of the unit and there will be a maximum withdrawal amount of $100 per transaction.  We hope this works out to everyone's benefit once it is installed.

I just want to remind you that the kitchen is open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5:30 to 8:00PM!  So please come in and support your club!  As alway please be courteous to the waitstaff and bartenders!
